Personality

The weight of LyreClan's extinction has always weighed heavy on Pigeonstar's shoulders, perhaps even more so than her fellow founders. She often wonders why she was picked to continue the clan's legacy as opposed to any of the other kits she shared the nursery with. Pigeonstar feels a lot of pressure to do LyreClan's legacy justice. This pressure is part of why she stepped up to become leader (apart from knowing that Robinpounce didn't feel fit for the job). She wants what is best for the clan and will do anything to ensure it's survival. She always feels like she's not living up to others expectations and her fear that her clanmates secretly hate her or think that she's doing a poor job leading the clan sometimes leads to huge arguments over seemingly small disagreements. This is especially true of Jaynight whom Pigeonstar feels threatened by.

When Pigeonstar (then Pigeonlilac) graduated at 17 moons old, she was honored for her planning.

Relationships

Pigeonstar grew up with the other founders and sees them as her family, regardless of how well she gets along with them. Her best friend, Magpiekit, was also chosen to continue LyreClan's legacy, however he was infected with the Sleeping Rot and died shortly after the kits were left. Pigeonstar wears magpie feathers in her tail to honor him and he gave her one of her lives.
She and Robinpounce have been close friends since they were kits and Pigeonstar almost views Robinpounce as a surrogate sister. Even if there had been other options for deputy, Pigeonstar would have chosen Robinpounce anyways. Both cats consider her an auntie to all of Robinpounce and Jaynight's kits, and she is especially close to Lakebillow.
Robinpounce does not get along as well with Jaynight and has very mixed feelings about him. He is her friend, but she often feels like he is better than her. She views him as more selfless, hard-working, and, in general, perfect, and it always makes her feel inferior and guilty for not being "enough". Jaynight never intends to make her feel this way but their relationship is rocky because of it.
Pigeonstar is also close friends with Frumpkin. He was the first cat to join New LyreClan, and, although he's not that much older than her, she still views him as an authority figure since she was still an apprentice when he joined.

Health

Pigeonstar was one of the few cats who escaped the Sleeping Rot. She does not know if she is immune or if she just got lucky and is not keen to find out.

During her developmental years, LyreClan did not often have enough prey and as a result struggled with malnourishment throughout her kit and apprentice-hood. Due to this lack of nutrition, Pigeonstar is smaller than the average cat.

When she was 12 moons old, while trying to show Frumpkin around the territory, Pigeonstar was crushed by falling branches. Frumpkin successfully dug her out, but one of the branches left her with a broken jaw and deep lacerations on her face which eventually scarred over.

At 42 moons old, Pigeonstar tripped and got her leg stuck in a twoleg trap. Although it took her a while to recover, the wound healed well and without incident.

History

Pigeonstar was born into LyreClan as Flurrykit during the last few days of Quillstar's reign. The Sleeping Rot had killed most of the clan at that point, including Pigeonstar's mother and her littermates. Quillstar chose her alongside Phloxkit, Emberkit, and Fogkit because they had survived when most of the nursery had not and showed no signs of the Sleeping Rot. After renaming the kits with the hope of bringing them StarClan's favor, he took all four kits to a secluded area outside of clan territory and left them there with as much prey as he could and the quest to build LyreClan anew and make sure that their history and culture carries on. From the start, Pigeonstar felt unprepared for her mission, but with no other choice, she resigned herself to her duties.
